(Pocket-lint) – Slack introduces an audio feature uniquely designed to recreate the experience of a person or group of people at work stopping by your desk to ask a question or solve a problem. Called Huddles, Slack said it was meant to “recreate the spontaneous, informal chats you miss in the office.”

What are Slack Huddles?

To help you come up with an idea, catch up with a coworker, debrief after a big meeting, or strike up a casual conversation with your coworkers, Slack has come up with Huddles, something it describes as a “lightweight audio first for start live chats. “The idea is that with just one click in Slack, you can create a click in any channel or direct message. Anyone in that channel or DM will be able to join or leave the group as he pleases.

Caucuses keep you away from the camera and save you from having to negotiate busy schedules.

How do Slack Huddles work?
