The best sleeping bags for camping – Tips & Tricks – Camping

Our opinion :

And finally… something completely different. If you like off season camping like me, you will love this. It’s fine to be wrapped up in a comfy and cozy sleeping bag on chilly nights, but what about when it’s time to get up in the morning and turn on the kettle for that essential brew?

The worst thing about camping when it’s cold is having to crawl out of your cozy cocoon in the morning. Wouldn’t it be great if you didn’t have to and could just carry your sleeping bag while you tend to your tent? Well, you can! The Selk’bag is a portable sleeping bag, and even if you look a bit like the Michelin man at the campsite, at least you’ll be toasty warm.

The beauty of the Selk’bag is that you can get started in the evening as soon as the temperature starts to drop, so by bedtime you are already acclimatized.

Elasticated hand openings let you easily get your hands in and out of the bag, while large front kangaroo pockets provide a great place to stash essentials.

The removable slippers are easily unzipped so you can put on your own shoes without removing the Selk’bag.

The adjustable and insulated hood provides extra warmth, and the two-way double zipper makes getting in and out of the Selk’bag very easy and quick.

It comes with a stuff sack to compress the bag and allow for easy transport and storage.

And now for the technical stuff. The Selk’bag features synthetic hollow fiber insulation, giving it all the insulation factors of a traditional sleeping bag, while a water-repellent coating keeps moisture out. It has a ripstop nylon shell and a soft polyester lining.

Other features of the Original 6G include side cargo pockets, side entry for easy access to trouser pockets, and leg vents to help regulate temperature when it gets too hot.

This version is available in a range of colors and sizes to suit your needs.
