Rochdale News | News Headlines | Healthwatch Rochdale will resume information and signage operations across the borough

Date published: March 27, 2022

Healthwatch Rochdale is resuming its Information, Advice and Signposting (IAS) operations to give residents the chance to talk face-to-face with us about the NHS and care services after the Covid-19 pandemic.

IAS surgeries have always been a core part of Healthwatch Rochdale’s work, but due to the pandemic, surgeries have taken place periodically over the past two years in line with government guidelines.

Now, with restrictions lifted, Healthwatch is once again running many IAS surgeries each month at various locations in the Borough of Rochdale.

Healthwatch Rochdale IAS surgeries offer Rochdale Borough residents the opportunity to speak with the watchdog face-to-face and share their experience of using local health and social services. It also provides information to help residents make informed decisions about services or support available locally, with IAS surgeries offering:

  • A free, friendly and confidential service, independent of the NHS and social services.
  • Play a signaling role. This means that Healthwatch will provide you with contact details for a range of services that best suit your request.
  • Information about the choices you have about where you might get help with your health, social protection and well-being needs.
  • Healthwatch can put you in touch with sources of information about the NHS and social services in the Borough of Rochdale.
  • Healthwatch can give you information on what to do if something goes wrong and you need help filing a complaint.

Kate Jones, Managing Director of Healthwatch Rochdale, said: “We have continued to listen to what local people have been telling us during the pandemic and the Healthwatch team have worked hard to ensure the voice of local people continues. to be heard.

“Due to government directives, we have had to work remotely, but we are aware that there are members of the community who prefer to speak to us face to face. We are delighted to be able to take over our Information, Advice & Signaling offices again and to exchange in person with our residents.
