Do you miss your favorite spicy chicken dish while camping?


This easy lunch recipe will have you making a cheeky peri-peri wrap yourself.


Change the amount of chilli to make it mild, medium, hot or very hot.

Chicken

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons of paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon chilli flakes
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • Sweet chilli sauce
  • Little gem lettuce
  • 2 sliced ​​tomatoes
  • 1/2 sliced ​​cucumber
  • 8 small plain wraps

Peri-peri mayonnaise

  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chilli flakes
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of sugar
  • Lemon juice





Step 1:

For the filling of the wrap, cut the chicken breasts into strips.

Combine all the dry seasoning ingredients in a bowl and massage the chicken pieces, making sure they are all well coated.


2nd step:

Put the oil in the frying pan over high heat, then, when it is very hot, add the chicken. It should sizzle when it hits the pan.

Let the chicken fry in the pan without moving it, so that it becomes nice and crispy around the edges.


Step 3:

While the chicken cooks, place the wraps in a dry skillet to reheat, turning to make sure they’re all hot.

After about five minutes, turn the chicken strips over, lower the heat a little and fry more gently until fully cooked.

Combine all the ingredients for the peri-peri mayonnaise in a bowl, mixing well.


Step 4:

When the chicken is cooked through, it’s time to serve.

Take a warmed wrap, spread generously with the sweet chili sauce and layer the lettuce, cucumber and tomato.

Add a portion of chicken then drizzle with peri-peri mayonnaise, fold the wrap and serve with a side salad.


Trick :

Spice it up with a bottle of your favorite hot sauce.
