Advice needed: Audi quotes Rs. 34,000 for first overhaul of my A4

My Audi A4 is about to complete 1 year, so the first service is due, although it has only done 4000 km so far.

Sohels BHPian recently shared this with other enthusiasts.

My Audi A4 is about to complete 1 year, so the first service is due (1 year or 15,000 km, whichever comes first). During this time the car has only done 4000 km and looks and feels like new.

I received the following estimate for 34K from Audi, details available in the attached photos:

  • Pieces: 17K
  • Work: 12K
  • Tax: 5K
  • Total: 34,000

Does this seem correct to you? Is it prudent not to replace certain elements, given the low mileage? Air or AC filters, for example?

Expect your thoughts!

Here is what BHPian Amey Kulkarni should say about it:

You can make the decision after seeing the status of the filters. I guess they will be fine and can be skipped in this service due to low usage. I would even give wheel alignment a skip.

Here is what BHPian Viper 711 should say about it:

Sounds good. As the car will be under warranty, the things you can skip are washing and alignment. The others are part of the maintenance program. Check the maintenance schedule in your owner’s manual. If the item is mentioned there for the designated kilometers / times, you must do them until the car is under warranty. This is from my experience in BLR.

Here is what BHPian goenkakushal should say about it:

In my experience, you can check the following:

  • GFF / Guided Function (Please check what this is as I was not charged for it)
  • Wheel alignment (not required as your vehicle only travels 4,000 km)
  • 8w0133843e Air filter (air filter change was not necessary according to the dealer because the vehicle only traveled 8000 km)
  • Rs 1275+3060+3151.70= 7486
  • Total with GST =8833

If you can remove the 3 items above, your estimate will drop to 26K. Otherwise the estimate looks good.
